GUIDED ARCHITECTURE TOUR OF MEGURO CITY OFFICE COMPLEX IN ENGLISH 2020

2020/5/9(Sat)~2020/5/29(Fri)

Details

The Complex designed by Togo Murano in 1966

Meguro City Office Complex was originally built as headquarters of Chiyoda Insurance Company in 1966. The Complex was designed by Togo Murano (1891-1984), one of the most renowned Japanese architects, and is considered to be one of the major works by Murano. Meguro Museum of Art, Tokyo (MMAT) has been organizing the architecture tour of the Complex in Japanese four times a year since 2004, attracting more than 300 participants each year. The tour explores various points where Murano’s distinctive design and skillful craftsmanship of the time are explicit and share the excitement of studying this rare example of surviving building by the architect. MMAT is organizing the tour of the Complex in English again this year. We would like you to join us for this tour of the Complex including three Japanese rooms plus a tea-house in which normally you cannot enter.
