Guided Architecture Tour in English of Meguro City Office Complex

　Meguro Museum of Art, Tokyo (MMAT) is organizing a guided tour in English to the Meguro City Office Complex, an architecture designed by a renowned architect, Togo Murano (1891-1984). It was originally built as headquarters of Chiyoda Insurance Company in 1966 and is considered to be one of the major works by the architect.

Guided by the English speaking staff, participants will explore various points where Murano’s distinctive design and skillful craftsmanship of the time are explicit. MMAT has been organizing this tour in Japanese since 2004, four times a year in April and May, attracting over 300 participants a year. This number indicates the increasing popularity of Togo Murano in recent years.

Believing Murano to be one of the most important architects of this country, MMAT wishes to reach out to wider audiences of English speakers hoping to share the excitement of studying this rare example of surviving building by the architect.
