Takeo TAKEI, who popularized the term “DOUGA - a picture
for children in Japanese” from the Taisho to the Showa
period with the aim of letting children come into contact
with real art. 2024 is the 130th anniversary of his birth. In addition to his works of DOUGA,we will exhibit
“KANPON-SAKUHIN - various books TAKEI made originally
and intentionally as artwork” and those originals, print
works, and others to introduce the wide spectrum of his
creations. We will also exhibit the works related to DOUGA
by Yoshio AKIOKA, an affiliated artist of our museum.
