The Tempera technique was widely used in the Western Medieval. We can enjoy the brilliant colors even now in altarpieces and illuminated manuscripts from the time. We at MMAT have organized workshops with the painter, Yasuo ISHIHARA, 7 times since 1992 to explore this technique. In this Exhibition, we will focus on "Il libro dell’arte" that transmits this Medieval technique, and will display the grand classic work of “Reproduction” created by ISHIHARA in Italy together with the process samples, colors and other materials to illustrate the charm of Tempera paintings.
